How to connect the Ticketbutler Direct app to your event? Easy! Just follow these few steps:
- Log into your Ticketbutler dashboard on your PC/laptop and find your event.
- Click on the "Check in from app" tab on the left hand side.
- Write down your 7-digit PIN, which can be found under the section labeled “Your app pin code is.”
- Grab your check-in device and open the Ticketbutler Direct app. The check-in devices are located inside the printer boxes. There is one phone per printer.
- Input the 7-digit PIN you recorded in Step 3..
Congrats - the app is now connected to your event.
Now, follow these steps to connect the check-in device to the printer:
- Open the printer’s hatch and make sure a label roll is correctly loaded.
- Turn on the printer by pressing and holding the power button in the upper left corner until it lights up.
- The Wi-Fi button should activate automatically when the printer is turned on. If it doesn’t, press the Wi-Fi button until it lights up.
- Next, open the Ticketbutler Direct app on our phone and tap the camera icon “scan” in the lower right corner.
- Use the camera to scan the QR code located on the back of the printer to pair the devices.
- Important: If you're using your own phone, ensure it is connected to the internet via mobile data, not Wi-Fi. Our devices are set to always use mobile data.
- If the pairing is successful, a green bar will appear at the top of the screen with the message: “WIFI DIRECT PRINTER CONNECTED.”
- To check in attendees, either search for their name in the “Attendee List” or scan their ticket’s QR code using the “Scan” option.
OBS the printer can last for 6 hours without the charger connected.
Connect via cable (WIFI or mobile data network needed)

- Inside each printer box, you'll find a black cable approximately 2 meters long.
- Plug one end of the cable into the back of the printer. The port is located next to the charging port
- Connect the other end of the cable to your check-in device.
- Make sure the check-in device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network or Mobile data network. Once online, you can begin pairing the device with the printer.
- Open the printer’s hatch and confirm that a label roll is properly loaded.
- Turn on the printer by pressing and holding the power button in the upper left corner until it lights up.
- Open the Ticketbutler Direct app on your Ticketbutler phone and tap the camera icon “scan” in the lower right corner.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, you'll see a message saying “Not connected.” Tap it and select “Connect via cable.”
- Scan the QR code on the back of the printer in order to pair it.
- Once successfully paired, a green bar will appear at the top of the screen with the message: “CABLE PRINTER CONNECTED.”
- Check in via the app by either searching for the person's name under "Attendee list" or by scanning the ticket QR code under "Scan”.
